14. Diposing of Four Major Household Appliances
(Air conditioners, TVs (CRT-based), Refrigerators, Washing machines)
The standard method is to return the item to its place of purchase
Ways to discard used appliances
Method1
If you are replacing, request the retailer of the replacement appliance to handle the used appliance.
Method2
Contact the retailer who originally sold you the appliance to be recycled
Method3
Request collection/transport by a contractor who is authorized to issue recycling coupons(Please contact the city for list of contractors).
Method4
Transport the used appliance to a manufacturer-designated drop-off site by yourself. If you opt for this method, please purchase an appliance recycling coupon at the post office beforehand and contact the drop-off site.
