Jufukuji Temple


In 1180 Hojo Masako invited the monk Myo-an Eisai to constract this temple where the estate of Minamoto no Yoritomo's father once stood. It is said that the third shogun Minamoto Sanetomo often visited it,in its heyday the temple used to have as many as 15 subtemples. Currently you can enter as far as the nakamon. Ranked 3rd among the five great Rinzai temples of Kamakura. Kamakura's 33 Kannon No. 24. Kamakura's 24 Jizo No. 18.
