Wakamiyaoji Street is approached from Yuigahama beach. It is said that Minamoto no Yoritomo constructed it for the safe delivery of his wife Masako, to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu. This road became the center of the developing town of Kamakura. Torii numbers one, two and three are lined up from the coast. Currently, the terraced kudzu vines that lie between the second and third toriis form a road where the kudzu stones serve as a curbstone. It is lined with restaurants and boutiques. One of the 100 best roads in Japan.

Hama no ootorii Ruins is located approximately 100 meter closer from Geba Yotsukado. It was discovered in 1990 and it is thought with the remains of torii built in 1553 by Hojo Ujiyasu, who was the lord of Odawara Castle.
